How much does an eye exam cost?

A comprehensive eye exam is $90 without insurance. A contact lens exam is $150 and also includes a prescription for glasses.

We also offer Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for $79. OCT provides advanced, detailed images of the back of the eye. These images help your doctor:

  • Detect early warning signs of serious eye health conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

  • Create a baseline to monitor changes in your eye health over time.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept insurance, FSA, HSA, and CareCredit.

What to Expect

Your comprehensive eye exam includes a thorough evaluation of your eye health, including retinal imaging. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Once you have provided us with your Medical History (create an account and get it done ahead of your visit!), our hi-tech equipment allows us to find out a lot about your eye health quickly.

Step 1: Prescreening

This quick process is performed by a doctor’s technician on location, and includes:

  • Tonometry: Measures the pressure inside your eye; important for glaucoma detection.

  • Autorefractor Keratometer: Helps provide a starting point for your prescription and measures the curvature of the front of the eye.

  • Retinal Imaging: Pictures are taken of the inside of your eye, which allows the doctor to view the back of your eye, without dilation, to assess the health of your optic nerve, retina, and blood vessels, critical in detecting serious eye and health conditions like glaucoma and macular degeneration.

  • Anterior Eye Imaging: Pictures are taken of the front of your eye which, allows the doctor to view the anterior structures of your eye, like the scleral, cornea, and lens, and detect conditions like cataracts.

Step 2: Acuities and Refraction Exam

The doctor’s technician will then show you to a sanitized, private exam room. Our patented telehealth technology allows independent doctors to perform this portion of the eye exam virtually. The doctor is available for any questions—allowing us to provide a comfortable and tailored experience just for you.

Step 3: Eye Health Evaluation & Prescription

An Ophthalmologist (MD or DO) or Optometrist (OD) will review your results and create a customized eye care treatment plan and prescription.
